Friends Donations News!
The Friends of the library will NOT be accepting donations of books, CD's, DVD's, etc. as of June 1, 2013. They will begin accepting these donations again in the fall. Thank you for your cooperation. Monetary donations are always welcome!!
May Art Exhibit
Ossining School District Annual Art Show. May 1 - 30. Opening reception was held on Thursday, May 2nd. Many family members and friends of the students were in attendance. This exhibit showcases the artwork of students in grades K - 12.

Museum Passes Info. Update!
The Neuberger Museum has reopened! The library has two museum passes which will admit up to 8 family members per pass at a discounted price. These may be borrowed for one week with an Ossining library card and patrons must be at least 18 years of age to borrow. They are available at the Circulation Desk.
All of the museum passes available were paid for by the Friends of the library.

The public library is a resource many people overlook. Libraries subscribe to databases you undoutedly don't, and librarians can find information not easily available with a Google search or to a person without library-science training. Consumer Reports Magazine - May 2013

OPL Now Offers Morningstar Online
Morningstar.com, Library Edition, is a research tool for analyzing stock and mutual fund investments. This is now available to WLS patrons. Please go to www.westchesterlibraries.org/digital and scroll down the page to research tools.

New Collection Information!
There is a new Readers Advisory collection shelved on the third floor, in the first stack. This collection DOES NOT circulate. Patrons may use them in the library NOT at home. You can't miss this new collection being right in the first stack and they have special spine labels. Enjoy!

Library Receives Grants for Programs!
The library received a grant of $1,000 from ArtsWestchester and the New York State Council on the Arts to present a series of programs titled, "Keeping Native American Art and Culture Alive." These programs will feature Native American crafts and guest presenters and are scheduled to begin in April. More information to follow.
The library also received a grant for $2,900 for the Linoleum Block Printing Workshop for Seniors through Lifetime Arts. The library is 1 out of 5 applicants chosen to receive the grant in all of Westchester County. The workshop began on February 12th and runs through mid-April.
Introducing: Our New Online Catalog!
"Enterprise" is the new online catalog for OPL and WLS. Enterprise is replacing iBistro, which has been in use for many years. Your holds, checkouts, and other information are unchanged and will also display in Enterprise.
The new catalog includes better searching, easier search narrowing, easier searching for e-books, more content like reviews and summaries, as well as a new "Lists" feature that allows you to create and save lists of your favorite titles.
Museum Passes are Available at the Library!!
Passes are now available to the Guggenheim Museum, the Intrepid, Mystic Aquarium, Childrens Museum of Manhattan, the Neuberger and Maritime. Passes are available at the Circulation Desk. All passes are checked out and borrowed for 1 week, no renewal, no reserving, 1 pass per family. Overdue fines are $3 per day and $75 for any lost passes. For all passes you must present an Ossining library card. All passes must be handed in to the Circ. Clerks. Passes cannot be returned to another library or put in the bookdrop. If you have any questions please call the circulation dept. at 914-941-2416 ext. 305.

Computer Classes Information
Registration is required for Computer Classes on Mondays. To register please contact the Reference Dept. at 914-941-2416 ext. 320. Also, when you register it is for a set of 3 classes one hour each on Mondays. Computer classes are offered every Monday evening, 5-8 p.m. in the 2nd floor Conference Room.
