Introducing The Positivity Project

May 02, 2020 | Adult Services

Sometimes, you just need to smile, and we’ve been doing that a lot thanks to The Positivity Project.

A collaborative community experience, The Positivity Project highlights uplifting moments, acts of kindness, creative experiences, and other positive experiences during this historical time, and is curated by longtime library patron Mary Wu and our own James Trapasso. If you’d like to share a positive experience, email James. We can’t wait to hear about your meaningful moments.

To officially launch this project, we are highlighting this submission from the project’s founder, Mary:

“As a two-time immunosuppressed kidney transplant recipient, I have been homebound. My roomie is a kitty cat Ricky who enjoys sleeping way too much so he can’t really help with the groceries and my meds buying and dropping off. So many really amazing, thoughtful, and caring friends, neighbors, and my folks and sister have surprised and humbled me with checking in on me and dropping off, mailing, and delivering home cooked meals, magazines, cards, and snacks. We talk and laugh through my door. I am so extremely grateful, yet helpless that I can’t do much from home except this : turn to my huge array of cards, stickers, pens, and stamps to write my thoughts, memories, and my utmost gratitude in these carefully hand-picked cards to mail out.”
