The Children’s Room is proud to announce that the 11th annual OPLbery Club, a mock Newbery club, has chosen its medal winner: When Stars Are Scattered, by Victoria Jamieson and Omar Mohamed.
The kids in the club also chose two honor books, The Blackbird Girls, by Anne Blankman, and Echo Mountain, by Lauren Wolk.
2020 was indeed a challenging year, and the members of the OPLbery Club met monthly on Zoom to talk about the books they’d read. Luckily, 2020 was a really good year for children’s books! Thanks to Max, Xander, Anika, Kenta, Ayun, Sofia, Rishabh, and Jonathan!
