Cecilia Quintero

Board Member-2nd Term, Expires 2025

I am thrilled to be back on the library Board of Trustees!  My prior service as a member of the library’s Board of Trustees during 2015-2016 occurred during a very exciting new chapter for The Ossining Public Library. We had just hired our new Director, Karen LaRocca-Fels. We knew that her vision, strategic thinking and personal mission to make The Ossining Public Library be the best resource, partner and local asset, it could be, to the Greater Ossining Community would be a dream come true!

The results of her work have been very fruitful. Karen and her creative staff routinely offer a robust assortment of monthly programs: concerts, book clubs, a film series, memoir writing, tax preparation, Spanish or English for beginners, yoga and even help for students with homework or assistance as you search your family records via the ancestry library edition. These efforts have not gone unnoticed; Westchester Magazine’s Best of Westchester issue included The Ossining Public Library as one of its notable honorees for 2018!

I have happily rejoined the board as the library turns a page in its colorful history to show how much it has grown and evolved into a vital social, community hub for its visitors. I am eager to help Karen and her team make The Ossining Public Library be THE PLACE to go in Westchester, a favorite destination for ALL, from our pre-school visitors to our AARP card carrying members and everyone in between.

It is a special privilege to serve on this board just as the library has celebrated its 125th Anniversary and as it is embarking on redefining what it means to be a library for our community and for future generations to come

The important and exciting work continues and I am honored to be a part of the team during this most promising time.
