If you’ve noticed the brochures at the library advertising Hoopla, and wondering what all the hoopla is about, the answer is, Just about Everything. Whether your child is a fan of Harry Potter or a devotee of Elephant and Piggie, Hoopla is a one-stop reading and viewing app for the entire family. Free to Ossining Public Library cardholders, Hoopla makes available popular titles in a variety of media formats including ebooks, audiobooks and streaming video. By downloading the app, your portable device becomes a gateway to over 33,000 titles in more than 70 languages. Even better, parents can filter Hoopla’s content to show only those materials appropriate to young readers, aged 0 to 12.
If you’re interested in how Hoopla can help your kids keep up with school and library summer reading programs, particularly when summer travel makes library visits impractical, pick up Hoopla’s expanded collection and instruction guide for Summer 2019, or stop by the children’s desk for assistance. When registering for a Hoopla account, enter Westchester Library System as your home library. If you receive a message about an invalid or expired library card when attempting to check a title out, please go into Settings, then Library Settings, re-enter your PIN and save your settings.
Hoopla lets you take the library with you on vacation, whether your travel involves planes, trains, automobiles, or swimming pool floaties.
